What Makes Inner Health Plus Different
pointer

Not all probiotics are the same

Not all probiotics are considered the same, they differ according to genus, species and strain. Most probiotics are considered safe and friendly in a broad sense, however not all probiotics possess enough health benefits to be considered therapeutic, therefore when considering a probiotic we must make sure the species and the strain have been proven to be beneficial in humans. Some probiotics are not well adapted for the environment in the human stomach and cannot survive in the harsh conditions, therefore when choosing a probiotic also make sure the strain can survive and repopulate within the human gut.

IHP Flow Chart

Inner Health Plus has the exclusive use of many of the therapeutic strains of probiotics that have been shown to be effective in clinical studies. Some of the most useful therapeutic probiotic strains include:

Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM

This strain of probiotic is one of the most comprehensively studied beneficial probiotics available. Health World Limited has exclusive use of this probiotic strain, so no other product will include this beneficial probiotic. This strain is one of the best bacteria for adaptation in the human gut. It is resistant to stomach acid and bile and has shown to establish permanent probiotic colonies within the gut. Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM has been shown to assist in:

  • Maintenance and restoration of healthy microflora in the small intestine.
  • Support of healthy digestive function following the use of medications.
  • Maintenance of general wellbeing and healthy digestive function.

Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07

Inner Health Plus also contains Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07, a specially produced strain of Bifidobacterium which in conjunction with Lactobacillus acidophilus (NCFM strain) provides a broad spectrum approach to intestinal health. This special strain of Bifidobacterium is also resistant to stomach acid and bile and can repopulate within the gut. It has also been shown to beneficially affect immune function through:

  • Restoring balance where there is immune dysregulation.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of healthy cellular immune responses.
  • Supporting immunity and thereby reducing incidence of infections in susceptible populations such as the elderly.

Inner Health products also contain Colostrum and Oligosaccharides

Inner Health products also contain Colostrum and Oligosaccharides. Oligosaccharides are vital food for increasing Bifidobacteria growth. They have a fibre like action making them an excellent supportive nutrient.

Inner Health 'Good bacteria' lie dormant in the capsule – The Yoghurt Myth.

A main difference between Inner Health Plus and yoghurt forms of probiotics is that Inner Health Plus probiotics lie dormant within the capsule until taken. Many yoghurt forms of probiotics are actually still live and therefore die off at a constant rate from the time of manufacture. Therefore there is no guarantee that the amount of 'good' bacteria in each dose is constant. When taken with water and mixed with the warm juices of your stomach the bacteria come alive and start to adhere and repopulate within your gut. In fact, you would have to eat 22 tubs of yoghurt to get the same amount of beneficial good bacteria that is in just one capsule of Inner Health Plus. See "The Yoghurt Myth" for more information.
